Portrait Photography FAQ’s
(i.e. all the answers to life’s burning questions, …or at least some of them)
Thanks Covid. Are you currently photographing?
In short - I listen to Governor Baker and our super smart scientists. As long as the numbers state-wide and regionally fall within a range that business is still allowed to be taking place, I will be photographing. The safety and well-being of all the families I work with (and truthfully MY family) is THE most important thing. At this time I am being tested once a week out of an abundance of caution, wear a mask the entire session, only offer ordering appointments via Zoom, and prefer to photograph in outdoor locations when at all possible. I've had my flu shot, and carry hand sanitizer around with me everywhere. If you have any specific questions or concerns around Covid protocols, please don't hesitate to reach out.
How many images are included in the session fee?
Session fees include a pre-session consultation, the time it takes to photograph the session itself, and editing time to narrow your images down to the best of the best for your in-person ordering appointment. All artwork, albums, digital images, etc. are sold separately. I offer pre-built packages starting at 795, as well as an extensive a-la-carte menu with items starting at 85, so you can pick and choose exactly what you want and need.
Do you offer digital images?
Yes! You have the option to purchase individual digital images OR all the images from your session. Each pre-built collections also includes a set number of digital images along with other credits for wall art. ALL digital images I offer are full resolution, meaning they are the highest quality and ready to print with any photography lab that is convenient for you.
Where should I get my digital images printed?
For standard luster prints I suggest using Mpix.com or adoramapix.com. For albums, framed artwork, prints on matte or fine-art paper, and other fun modern products, I suggest Artifact Uprising.
Why can’t I place my order online?
Everyone’s time is precious these days - between work, homework, home school, extracurriculars, birthday parades, and that sourdough bread you’ve been working on, there is little time left in the day. Over the years I’ve found that scheduling an appointment, and using the professional proofing software I have, we can narrow your images and make decisions on artwork within 60-90 minutes. It cuts procrastination and overwhelm and truly makes the whole process stream-lined and so easy.
How much does an 8x10 cost?
$1,000,000. JUST KIDDING. If you were to order nothing but an archivally mounted 8x10 print it would be $85. However, most of my clients tend to select a pre-built collection to take advantage of the savings built-in.
Are you open weekends?
Generally I reserve one day each weekend for photographing sessions. I do offer evening appointments for consultations and ordering. IF you will need a weekend session date, I suggest reaching out ASAP, as those are the dates that fill up the quickest.
How far out are you booking sessions?
It depends on if you need a weekend date or if you are able to make a week day time work. Weekend time slots book out 1-2 months in advance in the spring and summer. It is NOT unusual to book a WEEKEND fall foliage session 4-6 months in advance. I always suggest getting in touch ASAP.
You work with a lot of businesses, do you know a good < fill in the blank >?
Yes! Well… mostly likely. I have a great network of professionals from all different fields I would be happy to introduce you to. See my list here: If what you are looking for isn’t there, let me know and one of these special folks will definitely know someone reputable.
